Core Courses

Core Courses provide foundational knowledge in management, technology, and economics. These lectures are designed to deepen your understanding in six competence areas.

Fundamentals in six competence areas

  • General Management and Human Resource Management
  • Strategy, Markets, and Technology
  • Information Management and Operations Management
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Methods for Solving Complex Problems
  • Micro and Macroeconomics
  • Financial Management

You can choose Core Courses according to your own individual needs and interests.

Only requirement: you have to earn a minimum of 3CP in at least 5 of 6 competence areas during your studies.

Key aspects

  • Core Courses are held in the ETH Main Building. Most of these courses are recorded and can also be completed online.
  • Some courses are attended together with students from other programmes.
  • Core Courses are complemented by Skill-based Training and Elective Courses.

Study Plan

The MAS MTEC Study Plan provides an overview of the curriculum. It lists the course categories and their corresponding lecture courses as well as all the requirements that students need to fulfil.
